have...a year ago today...
"Me and Dierdre were hatched up in our one bedroomed flat in Hulme...on the 13th floor...we
were having an evening in..both had the night off work,canopoly board was out (canopoly is
the canal street version of monopoly) candle was on full beam...we had a litre of gin to share between
the two of us...when there was a noise...
"mwwwwrrrghhh"
Dierdre looked round...one eye open...the other still drunk...
"That noise...it sounded like a bloody giraffe!!!"yelled Dierdre
we both ran to the window and sure enough all yellow and brown was a giraffe... it was 20ft high and
wearing a bonnet...
"Well i never...a fookin giraffe in Hulme...Rhoda go get the camera"
so i ran to the bedroom leaving Dierdre open mouthed and drunk at the window.
After a few moments i returned...the window was open..but Dierdre was gone...i checked in the Kitchen,
behind the sofa...then out in the landing...she was no where to be seen....
"DIERDRE..." i yelled
there was no answer..i headed back to the window... the Giraffe was there...and lying in the bushes still
clutching the bottle of gin was dierdre...
"Get back in here,that animal could be dangerous!!" i squealed
But Dierdre being as hard as a rhino (skin as leathery to)...dragged herself to her stilleto clad feet
and pulled at the surrounding grass...lifted her arms and offered the clump of foliage to the yellow monstrosity
that had rudely ruined our evening.
"Rhoda you wanted a dog...but this is the next best thing...open the front security door...i'll get it in the lift..."
so after an hour of heaving and pushing..the giraffe was delivered to the front door...wedged through the hallway
then put in the front room...where it still sits to this day...
As some of you have heard we have some big names heading our way in the very near future...next up is HOXTON WHORES who will be playing the next bank holiday!!

Schoolyard mayhem is caused in the essential arena with chalk boards and everything - im your headmistress for the evening, i will be running through our lesson timetable..Welcome to ESSENTIAL HIGH boys and girls Djs DEANO,GOLDEN & CARL SPENCER will be on hand to make your dance your gymshorts dry!!
SATURDAY is MEDICAL BENDER
Oooer!! everyone likes a doctor/nurse/psychiatrist yes medical bender returns so get on your scrubs and we’ll have a night of debauchery...NICKSY in the poplounge with DEANO & DJ GOLDEN they’ll be serving up a treat in the pop lounge - downstairs in the main arena is the allstars...to take you til dawn!
SUNDAY is SABBATH
oldskool at its best finish your weekend in style with DJ THADDEUS causing some serious shenanigans on the decks
so thats it for this week...if any of you manage to make a canopoly board this week send me a message..i'll be sure to come round and drink your house dry!!!
